Thursday March 28 and Friday March 29

Well, Thursday was a rugby night.

I had the intention of going to a rugby league training session until I learned that it would start at 6pm, in downtown Toronto. As some readers may be aware, I live about an hour away.

Wasn't going to happen.

I will find a way of making this happen.

Thursday I got to indoor training about 7:15, and went until about 9pm. Lots of rugby specifics; passing, positioning, running.

I need to remember my mouth guard, and my testicles for next time.

Friday was a recovery day. My butt hurt from the sprint and my head hurt from the collisions.

I did get a rather long walk in with my son. About an hours worth of slow cardio, while pushing him on a small plastic car. It doesn't sound like fun, but it was probably the most fun I will have this year.

Wed March 27

Right, today was, well, friggin' awful.

All I got was a twenty minute walk in, really really early. Let me put it to you this way ... the sun was still in bed when I was done.

Yup, the rest of the day was taken up with house hunting, chasing kids and cleaning up.

Meh, at least I ate well...

Breakfast: friut and yougurt smoothie, coffee on the way in, water at work

Lunch: (not my best meal) ham and cheese sandwich, coffee and water to drink

Snack handful of almonds

Dinner: steak and salad wrap, water to drink.

March 20-Tues March 26

Well, again ... I'm not being that active in the gym, as I am spending my time being stressed.

I will get a workout in tonight. Pinky swear promise.

so then... I got home from work and made myself get this done, just so I'd stop whining:
I totally look like this as I did the workout

30 kettlebell swings
10 kettlebell cleans
20 feet up push ups
15 hanging knee tucks

March 18 and 19

Ah, finally. Back at it.

Monday I did this four rounds before having to go to work:
20 kb swings
10 kb cleans each side
5 kb snatches each side ... 20 kilo bell used
20 feet up push ups
10 hanging knee tucks

Oh, that felt good to get back at it.

 Tuesday I got this done four rounds:
 10 ball squat overhead throws 14 lb ball used
10 hanging barbell rows 10 overhead presses - 50-70lbs used on the bar, fat grips used
 20 feet up push ups
10 db bench flies (40 lbs used)
15 hanging knee tucks that felt awesome.

March 11-17

This is March Break - never a good time for training, really. I was active though.

I went to a cottage and had to dig out a parking spot for my van out of a snow back. That was about an hours work. Of course, the next day, I had to push the van out of the parking spot, which was pretty hard work.

The day after that I rested and got stressed, along with Thursday - but at least on the Thursday, I got rid of the garbage that was taking up residence in my gym I got it back to working order pretty quickly, but it was still stinky. Too stinky.

Friday I got in there and did a quick stretch and installed a nice smelling plug in.

Saturday was a bit longer of a stretch.

Sunday, I got this done four rounds before having to go be a dad:
10 ball squat overhead throws (14 lb ball used)
20 feet up push ups
10 hanging knee tucks

It felt good.

Monday March 10 - why isn't Chesser blogging these days?



Since starting this blog, this is the longest period of time I have gone without some official part of my day known as "training".

I've got one last hurdle to hop over and I will get my garage gym back. Currently, it is unusable, due to the volume of and stench of stored garbage and sundry other materials. It is also currently snowing.

I'm at a low point, readers. I'm looking for a new house, stressed with scores of issues around that idea and trying to give three kids under 10 a decent March Break. Add to that the stress of being stuck in a snow bank this past week, worry about money, having to clean a house for showings, having to get my family to stay clean, then cleaning the house anyway, then having to drive for three hours twice, having lots of work to finish while the kids have a Break, wondering if my training was enough over the winter, the fact that it is still snowing and you see why I'm not enjoying this time.

It's stressful.

Excuses, all excuses. I know. I could run in the evening; I could ask one of my online friends to borrow time in their gym .... there are a thousand different creative solutions I might try.

For now ... just know that whatever you are going through, there is a light at the end.

Friday, Saturday and Sunday March 3

I'm trying to sell my house. Just thought I'd get that out there.

Which means, time is becoming precious.

I did not "train" on these days, but, let me tell you, I'm pretty sore from all the painting and moving stuff that I was doing. I am not "lifting weights" but I am putting my body and it's fitness to good use and not sitting on the couch doing nothing.

That being said, as I was relaxing on Sunday night before bed (after a day of child minding, painting and cleaning, cleaning and cleaning) I watched Duck Dynasty.

What an idiot of a show.

Wed and Thursday Feb 28

Wednesday did this four rounds before need ot get to work.

Two minutes of punching bag _ worked on hooks, jabs and upper cuts.
20 kb two handed swings (50 lb bell used)
20 feet up push ups
20 hanging knee tucks

Doesn't look like much, but I was feeling it for the rest of the day.

Thursday was a rugby night - we lost in the finals. Meh, at least we paid our memberships on time.
